How to join the 1000 STEM Women Project

There are two ways to add a video:

1) Via the Flipgrid App on your phone (free)

2) Via Flipgrid.com on your laptop 

On your phone...
  1. Download the Flipgrid app on your phone (from either Google Play or Apple App Store)

  2. When you open the app, type in "1000STEMWomen" as the "grid code" (no spaces)

  3. Click "1000 Stem Women"

  4. Click green "+"

  5. Enter your email address 

  6. Click the record button* 

  7. After recording, review your video

  8. Take a Selfie

  9. Enter your name

  10. Enter the type of scientist you are in the "Add a title" domain

  11. Click "Submit video"

*You can also import a video from your phone by pressing on the "..." button next to the record button

On your laptop...
  1. Go to Flipgrid.com

  2. Enter the grid code "1000stemwomen"

  3. Click the text in the prompt

  4. Click green "+"

  5. Enter your email address 

  6. Click the record button* 

  7. After recording, review your video

  8. Take a Selfie

  9. Enter your name

  10. Enter the type of scientist you are in the "Add a title" domain

  11. Click "Submit video"

*You can also import a video from your laptop by pressing on the "..." button next to the record button

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THESE 90 second videos are meant for K-12 students, SO THE LESS JARGON THE BETTER!

I want the students to really understand the diversity of science out there and see how PASSIONATE we all are for what we do!

Helpful hints on how to structure your video

What is your name?

[Be specific, so not just chemist, but analytical chemist]
